The Outlet Connections exists to empower teens and young adults through skill-building, meaningful relationships, and faith-centered guidance. We are committed to providing a positive and supportive outlet that fosters personal growth, instills hope, and strengthens our community by nurturing the potential within every young person we serve.
The Outlet Connections was built on authentic relationships and a deep-rooted commitment to uplifting Indigenous youth through connection, consistency, and culturally grounded guidance. Our work began – and continues to grow – through sports, where we’ve built trusted bonds with teens and young adults in our community. Whether it’s basketball, volleyball, hunting, or a simple yard game, we meet youth where they are, offering not only activities but mentorship, encouragement, and life lessons through shared experiences.
Our commitment to long-term well-being is rooted in building a community of resilient, capable young people who can lead, serve, and inspire others. We’re not a temporary program – we’re a presence in our youth’s lives. And we are guided by the belief that Indigenous youth, when supported by people who understand their world, can reclaim their strength, thrive in their culture, and transform their future.
Through this work, we aim to reduce negative outcomes and replace them with stories of achievement, belonging, and hope. Every workshop, gathering, and conversation at The Outlet Connections is an opportunity to create meaningful change – not only in the lives of individual youth, but in the future of Native communities as a whole.
Chenise is an enrolled Colville Tribal member, lifelong athlete, and community leader originally from Inchelium, Washington. She played Division I basketball, received a Bachelor's Degree in business, and went on to serve her tribal community in human resources and youth leadership roles. She uses her vast experience in sports and life to coach teams, facilitate camps, and officiate basketball.
Her parents, Joe & Cheryl Pakootas, set high standards for Chenise by overcoming difficult upbringings and choosing to live a sober lifestyle free from drugs and alcohol. They instilled a strong work ethic, cultural pride, and a selfless nature that Chenise hopes to pass on to not only her own children, but any kid she is blessed to work with.
Chenise has always had a strong passion for uplifting the youth. She uses coaching and facilitating as an opportunity to build them up, speak life to them, and positively reinforce the powerful qualities each of them possesses.
Kendall is a devoted husband, father, and mentor, as well as a proud member of the Spokane Tribe. Though a promising baseball career was cut short due to injury, Kendall uses his journey of resilience to demonstrate that even in the face of loss, there is purpose, healing, and hope.
Growing up, Kendall was often labeled a troublemaker, a false identity that followed him through much of his adolescence. His parents, Reggie and Wendy Peone, assured Kendall had a strong foundation built on Biblical teachings. Healing, clarity, and a renewed sense of identity was found when Kendall came to understand that relationship with our Creator comes above all else.
Throughout his life, Kendall has embraced a wide range of opportunities. He graduated lineman school, worked in construction, power, utilities, wildland firefighting, and law enforcement. Although he is known for his strong work-ethic, Kendall never found long-term fulfillment in any single career path. Instead, he channels the skills he has developed into supporting his family, improving his home, and helping others who may lack the resources or knowledge to do the work themselves.
Above all, Kendall sees his role as a spiritual leader to be the most important. His life is a testament to transformation, and he continues to walk alongside others on their journey to healing and purpose.
Kendall & Chenise met and were married in 2013. At just 21 years old, the couple decided to make faith the forefront of their marriage.
Now parents to two young sons, Fyvall & Kemp, Kendall and Chenise have found parenting to be their greatest teacher. Though both boys are under 10, they've already inspired their parents to be more patient, selfless, honest, and understanding. As a family, they are committed to growing together - grounded in love, truth, and unity.
They believe that strong, transparent relationships create space for personal and collective growth. By being open about their struggles and embracing the journey of growth together, they hope to show that there is strength in vulnerability and healing in honesty.
Their goal is to build a home defined by unity, generosity, and unapologetic love - and to inspire others to do the same. Kendall & Chenise are passionate about showing that when families support one another wholeheartedly, they create powerful individuals and thriving communities.
Our mission takes community! We are committed to creating positive, meaningful experiences for youth - but we know this work can't be done alone. We welcome your input, ideas, and suggestions as we continue to grow. By coming together, we can broaden our network and build a stronger, more supportive environment for the youth and the entire community.
